Abstract

In this thesis, to propose an concept of using the advantage of QR Code and RFID technologies to implement into library management and lending service. Due to shortage of human resources in library routine operation, a concept of using QR Code and RFID will improve customer satisfaction in use of library and the efficiency of library management. To extend library management and functionality, the system could provide various conveniences and help library personnel to use the system without any difficulty. Therefore, it could not only improve quality of life but also life culture for people who manage the library or use it. At the mean time, in order to reduce the use of paper and fulfill the government policy of energy saving & carbon reducing, using latest technology of QR Code and RFID could reduce paper consumption tremendously and turn library management into high efficiency with low cost operation. The purpose of this study wishes to build an automatic library management system, which not only provide a user-friendly system but reduce the impact of insufficient information of existing system. Also, the system could provide variety of information for the users whenever and wherever they are in a library. The system will have various kinds of information in different level, that provides suitable information whenever users require. This also eliminates the time that library personnel spends and improve user experience in library operation. The expectation of this study is to have library work properly when adopting this system and provides better experience in all aspects of library operation.
