Abstract

AbstractFog computing is the most advanced and futuristic technology that is employed along cloud computing to mitigate the gap between cloud computing services and edge devices in a network. Various constraints which are present in the cloud computing can be easily resolved by fog computing. Fog computing serves as an ameliorator addition to cloud computing. Instead of performing computations at relatively farther located server, fog computing does all the computations locally in a fog virtual server. Today, fog computing challenges such as resource utilization, load balancing, and response time are the main focus of many existing systems. Load balancing is still an issue for many application domains in a fog environment. Uniformly distribution of workload among all the edge nodes is desirable to improve the performance of the whole system. A novel architecture has been proposed in this paper to balance the load between available fog devices and improves various QoS parameters such as resource utilization, turnaround time, delay time, and average response time by implementing the concept of task and resource categorization. So that requesting task will be submitted to most suitable resource by considering QoS parameters.KeywordsFog computingQoSLoad balancingReliabilityDelayMake spam
