Abstract

This paper evaluates Quality of Service (QoS) of video streaming over IEEE 802.1 TSN (Time Sensitive Networking) network by experiment. The authors prepare two kinds of switches for the experiment. One is a switch which supports IEEE 802.1 TSN. The other is a switch which does not support it. The authors measure the QoS for each switch and compare the results. The experimental results indicate that, although the QoS of the switches which support IEEE 802.1 TSN is better than that with switches which does not support 802.1 TSN, it was degraded if the network was congested too much. Then the authors also indicate that combining software-based layer-3 QoS control with IEEE 802.1 TSN is more effective.
