In this paper, starting from the exact viscous acoustic dispersion relation in the framework of the standard linear solid (SLS) body theory, we firstly derive the viscous acoustic equation that definitely separates the amplitude attenuation and phase distortion effects. The Q-compensated reverse time migration (RTM) and least square RTM (LSRTM) methods based on this equation are further developed. The instability problem is effectively solved by adding the regularization operator, which introduces tiny extra computational time. The examples demonstrate that the Q-compensated RTM method can effectively recover the attenuated energy and achieve similar result as the acoustic RTM on acoustic data. The Q-compensated LSRTM method can significantly improve the resolution of Q-compensated RTM result at both shallow and deep layers, and obtain much clearer image.
