FisheriesVolume 40, Issue 4 p. 150-151 Interview Q&A: Interview with David Fielder Returning to Graduate School as a Professional – Perspectives from a Non-Traditional Student Jeff Schaeffer, Jeff Schaeffer AFS Co-Chief Science Editor jschaeffer@usgs.gov David Fielder is a research biologist for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources stationed in Alpena, Michigan, on Lake Huron. During 2014, Fielder had many professional accomplishments and was a co-recipient of the American Fisheries Society President's Fishery Conservation Award for his work on conservation and management of the Saginaw Bay fish community. But his greatest achievement last year was receiving a Ph.D. from the Michigan State University Department of Fisheries and Wildlife.
