Abstract
The inscriptions CIL XIII 8825 = Dessau 9186 and CIL XIII 8828, in which the governor of Germania inferior Q. Venidius Rufus is mentioned, were incorrectly restored, mainly because it was not remarked that the title consularis can also be placed in front of the name. The paper provides here a reconstruction of the two texts.
