Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, the liquid‐phase ultrasonic stripping preparation method was used to fabricate a TiS2 saturable absorber (SA). A Q‐switched Nd:YVO4 laser was demonstrated using the TiS2 SA. The modulation depth and saturation power intensity of TiS2 SA were 4.5% and 19.7 MW/cm2, respectively. The maximum output power was 322 mW under 4.5 W with T = 10%, and the corresponding conversion efficiency was 7.16%. The pulse width was 476 ns with a repetition rate of 72.4 kHz, and the corresponding single pulse energy was 4.45 μJ. Thus, TiS2 nanosheet is a suitable SA material for Q‐switched lasers.
