Abstract

To detect gravitational waves it is necessary to separate the signals due to these waves from thermal noise in the antenna. A possible way of achieving this would be to operate at liquid helium temperatures. The behaviour of aluminium bar antenna was studied at liquid helium temperatures with particular reference to Q values.
