Abstract

Chris Somerville is Director of the Carnegie Institution Department of Plant Biology and a professor of Biological Sciences at Stanford University. He grew up in the Canadian north and was educated at the University of Alberta. He was one of the early Arabidopsis enthusiasts and has used the plant to study a variety of topics in cell and molecular biology. He is currently exploring the complexities of plant cell wall biogenesis.
