Abstract

Pyrus longipedicellata Zamani & Attar sp. nov. is described as a new species from Iran. It belongs to the section Pashia Koehne and has been collected from two localities in northern Iran, central Alborz (Mazandaran Province). An identification key to the Iranian species of the section, a complete morphological description, a distribution map, photographs and illustrations of the new species as well as a morphological comparison with its closest species, P. boissieriana, are provided.
