Abstract

Abstract An improvement has been made in the pyrolytic sulfurization gas chromatographic method, by which the atomic ratio between C, H, O, and N in a sample can be simultaneously determined. Analysis was carried out by use of the correction factors instead of calibration curves. Correction factors were obtained by use of five standard compounds, naphthalene, thiourea, cyanoguanidine, sucrose, and amidosulfuric acid. The method is simple, accurate, and applicable to various compounds.
