Abstract

• Pyrolytic carbon coated VS 2 nanosheet self-assembled submicroflower is constructed. • Interfacial V-C bonds between pyrolytic carbon and VS 2 are generated. • Pseudocapacitive Na + storage process of N/S-C@VS 2 anode is revealed. • Synergistic effect of VS 2 , N/S-C layer and their interface is demonstrated. • The specific capacity reaches 680 mAh g -1 at 1.0 A g -1 after 180 cycles. The N, S co-doped amorphous carbon coated VS 2 nanosheets self-assembled submicroflowers (N/S-C@VS 2 ) with interfacial V-C bonds are in-situ constructed by a simple one-step solvothermal method. Benefiting from the synergistic effect of VS 2 nanosheets with rich Na + storage sites, N/S-C coating layer with high electrical conductivity and their interfacial V-C bond interaction, N/S-C@VS 2 anode exhibits the outstanding cycling performance with the pseudocapacitive Na + storage process. The capacity of 680 mAh g -1 is realized at 1.0 A g -1 after 180 cycles.
