Abstract

Pyroelectric properties of a Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 single crystal under a light signal from a He-laser (0.63 μm) chopped at 0.12 Hz were measured in the temperature range from room temperature to 200°C. The pyroelectric voltage response was analysed using a one dimensional model, and the parameters involved in the equations were determined. The pyroelectric coefficient Λ is 70 nC/cm2K, and the fraction of the incident power absorbed η is about 3.2% at room temperature. The effect of d.c. field on the pyroelectric response was also investigated.
