Abstract

CNS 11664 method was followed with the modification of dissolving the concentrate with 10% NaCl in 0.5N HCl in place of 0.5N HCl alone, the emulsification in fat removing with benzene could be eliminated. The test solution treated with DB-608 Capillary column and detected with GC/ECD yielded good results. The detection limit of pyrimethamine in raw chicken and egg was 0.1 ppm. Prom July 1995 to May 1996, 98 chickens and 22 eggs were collected and analyzed, but no evidence for pyrimethine was detected. The results showed evidence which indicated that either the chicken farmer obeyed the regulation or they might use of the other drugs.
