Abstract

Oral pyogenic granuloma is a common reactive enlargement secondary to chronic low-grade local irritation and hormonal imbalance. It usually affects gingiva but rarely exhibits alveolar resorption. Woman, 44, had progressive painful swelling in the lower left jaw of 3 months' duration. Extraoral examination revealed mild facial asymmetry. Intraorally, a solitary red nodule with a smooth surface covered the buccal vestibule of the alveolar mucosa in the molar region. It measured about 5 × 3 × 2.0 cm.
