Abstract

ABSTRACTTyre rubber residue is a common trace material used as evidence in certain traffic accidents. The composition of tyre rubber varies among different vehicles. In this article, 76 tyre rubber samples of different brands and vehicle models were analysed by Py-GC/MS. The chemical structure of the main characteristic pyrolysis product was also identified. The tyre rubber samples were then classified according to the characteristic pyrolysis products of the rubber materials. Comparative analysis on the samples of the same class was conducted according to the similarities and differences between the relative contents of their pyrolysis products.
