Abstract
Densities were determined experimentally for the binary mixtures of poly(ethylene glycol mono-4-octylphenyl ether) (PEGOPE) + anisole or benzyl alcohol at 298.15–348.15 K and pressures from 0.1 to 50 MPa. All of the excess volumes are negative over the whole experimental conditions, indicating that the hydrogen-bonding effect is dominant in these two binary systems. Those isothermal and isobaric excess volumes correlate well with the Redlich–Kister equation. The specific volumes of the pure components and their mixtures were correlated with the Schotte and Flory–Orwoll–Vrij (FOV) equations of state to average absolute relative deviations (AARDs) no greater than 0.03%.
