Abstract

■ Soo Putting memory to work : a comparative study of three associations dedicated to the memory of the Spanish republican exile in France There is nowadays a growing recognition of the Spanish Republican exile history by public institutions. Associations made up with former refugees and their descendants played a key role in the rediscovery of memory. If their activity recalls evidently cultural borders, it would be however mistaken to observe sector-based identity constructions. What differentiates their activities, it is the identity making-process, which is both internal and external with regard to identity and Nation-state social-political framework.
