Abstract

A person's surname is frequently related to his occupation or interests. After providing a list of examples, e.g., neurophysiologists named Head and Brain, contraception researchers named Gamble and Zipper, the author reviews some possible explanations for this relationship. These include environmental influences, Lady Luck, and Gene Power.
