Abstract
We obtained the sarcolemmal fraction of smooth muscle from porcine thoracic aorta by using differential and discontinuous sucrose density gradient centrifugation. The purity of the preparation was determined by the activities of 5’-nucleotidase, ouabain sensitive K+-stimulated p-nitrophenyl-phosphatase (PNPPase) and NADH cytochrome C reductase, and saponin-inhibita-ble Ca2+ uptake.
