Abstract
The preparation of relaxin extracts from pregnant sow ovaries is described. Studies with ion exchange resins show that relaxin is a neutral substance. By the concomitant use of strong cationic and strong anionic ion exchange resins, a shortened extraction procedure was devised which allows the removal of most of the extraneous nitrogenous content of the relaxin extracts.
