Abstract
Summary A rapid method for isolation and purification of Q fever rickettsiae is described. It consists of differential centrifugation of homogenates of infected yolk sacs or chick embryo tissue in M/1 KCl followed by sedimentation in continuous linear sucrose or glycerin gradients. Adequate yields of electron microscopically pure rickettsiae were obtained.
