Abstract

In this work, the influence of carbon dioxide concentration in the hydrogen on metal hydride has been investigated. LmNi4.73Mn0.12Al0.15 was employed as a sample material for its durability against inorganic compound and operating temperature and pressure. Mixture of hydrogen and carbon dioxide is supplied to the sample in a double-ended cylinder at a constant flow rate and a part of the supplied gas is released to avoid condensing of impurity at a smaller constant flow rate than inlet. The temperature is maintained at 30 °C. The experimental results show the sample is able to absorb hydrogen selectively at carbon dioxide concentrations less than 30 vol% and the mixture of the carbon dioxide concentration of 20 vol% is purified to less than 0.1%.
