Abstract
Methods and results of the isolation, analysis and structural elucidation of ecdysteroids occurring in plants of Silene species are summarized. Emphasis is placed on the chromatographic procedures used for preparative purifications and analyses of Silene ecdysteroids, and a brief survey is given of the other preparative and analytical methods. Experimental data from TLC and HPLC analyses are also given.
