Abstract

Nuclear quadrupole resonances were detected in TiC1/sub 3/, TiC1/sub 2/, VCIsub 3/,CrC1/sub 3/, CrBrsub 3/, and CrCl/sub 2/. The observed C1 /sup 37/ and Br/sup 81/ resonance frequencies are listed and an estimate of the covalent character alpha /sup 2/ metal-halogen bond in these compounds is given. (C.J.G.)
