Abstract
We will prove that if a ring R is either countable or a Prufer domain, then n-cotilting R-modules are pure injective. We can apply and modify a very nice argument due to Jensen and Lenzing [14] showing that algebraic compactness follows from splitting of canonical direct sums in cartesian products.
