Abstract
In the 1984/85 academic year, an experiment in the study and use of computer technology in schools was conducted in Sverdlovsk region. It was decided to give schoolchildren some idea of the enormous potential of computer technology and the prospects for its application in various areas of the production sector and of community life. We sought to acquaint the youngsters, albeit in broad terms, with the principles of computer design and to give them the initial skills necessary to deal with computers.
