Abstract

The beam-type pumping unit is one of the traditional oil extraction machines in oil industry. However, there are also many drawbacks for the unit, such as the efficiency lower and energy consumption. Especially, the main problem of the beam-type pumping unit is difficult to achieve long-strokes and low-impact cycles. In this paper, an energy-saving pumping unit has been designed. The Switched reluctance motor is used in the unit, and it can realize the changing frequently of the direction. Motor control system enables flexible start-up and speed control of switched reluctance motors, and it avoids the mechanical impact of the pumping unit changing direction. Gear speed reducer was instead by using a planetary gear roller with a compact structure and a large reduction ratio. The stability and work efficiency of the pumping unit system was improved by the change of the potential energy which used of the lifting and lowering of the counterweight guide member. The pumping unit have been tested with the experiment platform, the working performance of the main components of the pumping unit and the stability of the control system are verified.
