Abstract

The films of kesterite Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) were prepared on a fluorinated tin oxide (FTO) glass substrate by a pulsed current electrodeposition to make copper zinc tin (CZT) precursor films and sulfurization to make CZTS films. The various duty cycles (33%, 50%, and 67%) were used to electrodepeposit the CZT precursor films. According to the experiments, a higher duty cycle resulted in both CZT precursor films and CZTS films became denser, more compact, more uniform, and smoother. Based upon the XRD and EDS, the sulfurized film's composition consisted of Cu, Zn, Sn, and S. The compound formulae were also proved to be the kesterite Cu2ZnSnS4 structure.
