Abstract
The transient spectrum of anthracene anion is obtained in the range 550 to 780 nm in liquid methylamine at 298 K. The spectrum has a maximum at 730 nm. The anion of anthracene (A) in liquid methylamine follows decay kinetics involving two reactions. G/sub e/ was found to be equal to 4.0 +- 0.3 by pulse radiolysis of solutions of anthracene in liquid methylamine.
