Abstract

Hard alloy VK10KS is studied after acting on its surface by pulse plasma jets formed by electric explosion of aluminum foil. The microgeometry of the hardened surface of the alloy is determined using a profilometer. Metallographic analysis and nanoindentation of the plasma-affected zone are performed. The phase composition of the surface layers is determined using x-ray diffractometry.
