Abstract

A description is given of a pulse-periodic CO2 laser with an average output power of up to 1.2 kW, a pulse repetition frequency of up to 1.5 kHz, and a beam divergence of 1 mrad. The results are reported of work on stabilizing the gas mixture composition. If hopcalite is used to regenerate the mixture, the laser can operate for several hours without deterioration of its energy characteristics.
