Abstract
Two-photon single and double ionization of helium by ultrashort laser pulses is explored with accurate time-dependent theoretical methods. Core excited resonances are revealed in the two-photon single ionization cross sections. In two-photon double ionization, electron angular distributions reveal that subfemtosecond pulses can change the competition between the sequential and nonsequential ionization processes.
