Abstract

The pulse-height response of silicon surface barrier detectors has been measured for uranium ions in the energy range of 20 to 120 MeV. The extrapolated zero-energy pulse-height defect was found to be (6.8±0.5) MeV. Moreover a bias dependence of the pulse-height defect was observed.
