Abstract

Pulse compression is a technique, which is used widely in radar systems for achieving high range resolution. High range resolution is achieved by modulating the transmitted pulse either in phase or frequency. This paper demonstrates two types of pulse compression techniques that is Coherent Pulse Compression (CPC) and Non- Coherent Pulse Compression (NCPC) technique. Advantages and applications of both techniques are discussed. Results presented shows that both pulse compression techniques are suitable for high resolution radar applications.
