Abstract

A substantial gap exists between evidence-informed policies and real-world implementation in cancer prevention, early detection, and management—despite decades of research generating crucial knowledge to support such policies. The disparity between evidence and practice has resulted in suboptimal outcomes of cancer control interventions, as is obvious from the high burden of preventable cancers and the consequent increase in health disparities in both low-resource and high-resource settings.1,2
