Abstract

The study seeks to discuss the various ways in which the new Pentecostal movements in Zimbabwe have publicized what traditionally has been viewed as private (i.e. issues of sexuality). The chapter focuses on the construction of sexuality within the Pentecostal movements bringing out how these constructions are to a large extent gendered. An analysis of sermons and teachings by Emmanuel Makandiwa, founder of the United Family International Church (UFIC) provided data for this chapter.
