I N F o R M A T I 0 N about human reproduction is avidly sought by young people’s groups and young adults. I f we agree to requests from parent-teachers’ associations, teen groups, college groups, and women’s clubs to discuss this topic at their meetings, we are regularly deluged with continuing commitments. When any effort is made at a factual presentation with question and answer sessions available afterward, each meeting will run overtime. This serves to emphasize the need for more cooperation in instituting good teaching practices in our public schools in all grades.l School curriculum committees at state and local levels are pressed for additional time for instruction in every phase of education.’ At the 1964 National Congress of Parents and Teachers, sex and venereal disease were listed as the first items of importance in requesting coordination to combat increasing problems.” A few of the organizations which advise more specific sex education in the public schools are Sex Information and Education Council of the United States, Marriage Preparation Institute, The Association of Family Life Educators, The School Health Education Study Committee, The National Congress of Parents and Teachers, and Planned Parenthood League.
