Public Reporting and Transparency in Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgery

Abstract

Purpose: Public access to standardized risk adjusted outcomes data for pediatric and congenital heart surgery is a recent development. The Society of Thoracic Surgeons Congenital Heart Surgery Database (STS-CHSD) began to publicly report outcomes of pediatric and congenital cardiac surgery in January 2015. We assessed the level of participation in this voluntary public reporting initiative over its first 40 months.
