Abstract

The world has become so small and so close that one can no longer afford to ignore countries, or cultures, or societies, or politics, or business practices other than one's own. This new “one world” is presenting great challenges and new opportunities to the public relations profession, writes Joe Epley. He originally presented these remarks at a conference of the European Association of Public Relations Consultants in Barcelona, Spain, on April 26, 1991. Mr. Epley is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America, of which he is past president. He is president of his own public relations firm, Epley Associates, Inc., in Charlotte, North Carolina.
