Abstract

AbstractA survey was made to find out the age, sex, education, religion, race and salary of the Malaysian public relations practitioners. It was also interested to find out the place they work, the size of the organizations that the practitioners work, the number of employees, the attitude of management, press and colleagues toward the public relations practitioners.A total of 186 (or 67 percent) responded.This was the first known survey made of public relations practitioners in Malaysia.The findings indicated that practitioners perceived their management and colleagues understood better the concept of public relations than the average public or the press.The practitioners preferred to be in public relations given a career-choice again and reported that they were better off than friends with similar academic qualifications.
