Abstract

The global economic shows a significant increase in the number of people living in poverty, with the regions of Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and some countries in Asia being mainly affected. For Mexico, 2018 marks a juncture in the country's governance that is guided by the increase in public spending allocated to programs in response to the global economic slowdown and the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in a significant increase in indicators of poverty, inequality and marginalization.
