Abstract

Cable subscribers and nonsubscribers were compared on a variety of behavioral and attitudinal measures across time. The anticipation was that experience with cable television service involving imported broadcast channels, cable networks, pay cable, and local origination would lead to a more positive evaluation with time. The opposite results were found.
