Abstract
This chapter will provide a discussion and analysis of the public’s interest in both serial and mass murder and true crime in general. This increase is demonstrated by the increase in the number of criminal television shows and movies being consumed by the public, murderabilia sales, the interest in murder homes, and persons who are attracted to violent perpetrators. Also discussed will be an analysis of the public’s growing fascination with these topics and several relevant critical thinking exercises.
