Abstract
Public innovation in Peru has been taking place gradually in recent years, despite the fact that there is current legal regulation, Law No. 30968, which modifies article 82 of Law 27972, "Organic Law of Municipalities", that promotes the development and implementation of projects and activities based on the results of scientific and technological research and technological innovation. This article analyzes the current context of public innovation management in government entities, mainly in local governments. As well as the legal framework, criteria for innovative public management, innovation ranking by region and success stories of good management in public innovation: Municipality of Miraflores, Municipality of San Isidro and the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima.
