Abstract

Introduction: public health surveillance is ongoing, systematic collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of data regarding a health-related event for use in public health action to reduce morbidity and mortality and to improve health. In Ethiopia, 20 diseases and conditions are selected to be included in routine surveillance that reported immediately or weekly. Rabies is among immediately reportable disease. This study aims to evaluate the existing surveillance system of rabies in Burayu Town, Oromiya regional state.
