Abstract

There is extensive use of dedicated data networks in smart buildings, many of which are incompatible with each other but with similar data services. Along with the development of power electronic technology, low pressure mercury vapor fluorescent lamps with electronic ballasts of lighting could be seen everywhere. This paper briefly analyzes features of common indoor public data services and indoor lighting system. On this basis we discuss the possibility of using indoor lighting systems to provide public data network services. With an analysis of the characteristics of gas discharge fluorescent lamp, the concept of lighting source data broadcasting has been proposed, and subsequently a description for public data services based on indoor lighting system has been made at system-level. In the article we discussed the realization of Lighting Source Data Broadcast in detail, design an implementation schema, and present actual test results. At the end of this work the applications in logistics positioning, indoor data broadcasting and other fields of this technology have been expounded with the existing technology compared in the background of these applications.
