ABSTRACT
 BackgroundStatistics New Zealand stewards the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) which links government administrative data, surveys and the New Zealand Census.
 MethodA multi-method, qualitative approach was chosen to investigate attitudes to data integration and the role of the national statistical office.
 ConclusionFindings from this research inform Statistics New Zealand's understanding of social license, and provide direction for public engagement and governance.
