Abstract

The basic procurement principles and techniques are equally applicable in both the public and private sectors. The usually declared ultimate aim is to procure a particular facility — being the subject of a project — from the right source, which means: with the right quality, functionality and performance under the right terms and conditions, among which costs and timely implementation usually are of essence; and with the right long-term operation and/or maintenance support.
