Research Article| February 01 2014 Public Access, Privacy, and Queer Politics: An Interview with Nathan Fuller Sara L. McKinnon Sara L. McKinnon Sara L. McKinnon is an Assistant Professor of Rhetoric, Politics & Culture in the Department of Communication Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research and teaching is in the areas of intercultural rhetoric, globalization/transnational studies, legal rhetoric, and transnational feminist theory with expertise in critical rhetorical, qualitative, and performance-based methods. Her current research focuses on questions of subjectivity, agency, and legal access for refugees and asylum seekers and she is continually interested in the role of the state and global capital in determining access and subjectivity for marginalized groups and individuals. Her essays have appeared in Women’s Studies in Communication, Text and Performance Quarterly, and the Quarterly Journal of Speech. Nathan Fuller is Media Liaison and Court Reporter for the Private Manning Support Network. In this role he creates and edits campaign materials, assists with national special events, and documents the events of Pvt. Manning’s legal case and appeal. In addition to his work with the Support Network, Fuller is a writer, editor, and activist on anti-war, LGBT, and social justice issues. He studied Documentary Film and Journalism at the College of New Jersey, where he also edited a political news magazine. He believes the material Pvt. Manning is credited with releasing warrants all the support we can provide.
